Henderson set for Moore team up on 'considerably improved' Cesarewitch favourite
Following a tried-and-trusted route to the Club Godolphin Cesarewitch in two weeks is the plan for , whose jumps connections are buoyed by potentially teaming up with one of Flat racing's biggest names for the mission.
"The plan is Ryan Moore will ride," said trainer Nicky Henderson. "He's won on her and his team called for the ride.
"He wasn't going to be able to ride at Royal Ascot because he'd have been riding for Willie Mullins, but we couldn't run because of the ground anyway. It would be nice if he could ride because he knows her."
Henderson won last year's Cesarewitch with Buzz and added: "She had a gallop at Newbury last Sunday and we're on the same schedule as Buzz. She came in the same week and he galloped at Newbury on the same Sunday, and it worked, so we'll try it again.
"She's got only two objectives; the Cesarewitch and the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham, in which she was second last season. She improved considerably in the spring and her Cheltenham run and her two Flat wins were way above anything she'd done before."
Henderson has an enviable team of female performers for the novice hurdle division, including , a spectacular Listed winner at Sandown in March.
"She could be anything," he said. "When she won at Sandown it was the best performance in a mares' bumper all season. She was incredible, but she has this habit of locking her stifle and, one morning, it wouldn't unlock.
"She went over and couldn't get up, and we thought we'd lose her, but there was a technique we tried, which saved her life.
"Let's hope she's as good as we thought, and I don't think the issue will worry her, but she's not the only one as I adore , a half-sister to Firestep.
" might have disappointed after a good first run but has had a wind op and is bred for jumping, while is a nice mare who should have won her bumper.
" did win hers and has a touch of class, and has taken time but is worth waiting for."
Of those yet to run for the yard, Henderson said: " is a lovely, big, scopey mare and Love Bite is simply sensational. She's a drop-dead gorgeous sister to Beat That and half-sister to Might Bite, and brilliantly named by me!
"You won't, however, see a better-looking filly than , who was impressive in her point-to-point. She might just be something."
The "incredibly progressive" and the "interesting" are due to take the senior mares' hurdle route, while the chasing team includes , and , who unseated in the Topham "but can usually jump with her eyes closed".
"They're fantastic," said Henderson. "You won't see a better bunch of mares across the board."
