All you need to know for the first day of the Coral-Eclipse meeting at Sandown

It is the first day of Sandown's two-day Coral Eclipse meeting with the Gala Stakes (3.25) the feature race on the seven-race card. Elarqam, fourth in last year's 2,000 Guineas, is the big name in the field.

Elsewhere the Listed Dragon Stakes for juveniles (2.20), won by subsequent Group 1 winners The Last Lion and Havana Grey, also features on the card.

It is a busy Friday of racing with eight meetings across Britain and Ireland with Sandown's card joined by Doncaster and Newton Abbot in the afternoon while the evening sees action at Chelmsford, Haydock and Beverley and in Ireland at Bellewstown and Wexford.
