Wexford big guns are back with a bang as new season bursts into life

It was good to get back into action at Toomebridge on Saturday and they did a fine job in preparing lovely jumping ground for the first meeting of the season.

As you would expect, the big Wexford guns were firing early in the four-year-old division.

Donnchadh Doyle and Rob James took the opening mares’ maiden with Robin Des Sivola, beating a mare representing the reigning champion combination of Colin Bowe and Barry O’Neill, who then went one better in the geldings’ maiden.
