West Cork Wildway makes an immediate impression for O'Flynn

Former Cork All-Ireland winning footballer Paul O'Flynn saddled his first winner of the campaign courtesy of well-supported newcomer West Cork Wildway in the second division of the Hickey Bros Precast four-year-old geldings’ maiden.

The smart gelding, representing Fernhill Tower Syndicate, was always well-positioned and led from the second last under Gary Noonan to defeat fellow newomer Game Present by four lengths.

O'Flynn's representative Ciaran Fennessy said: "He's a horse that was bought at the August sale in Fairyhouse last year and we fancied him coming here. Hopefully he should go on and win plenty of races."
