I am originally from Germany but I have been in Ireland for ten years now. I am a showjumper and when I came over I started off with Mark Molloy and he asked me if I'd ever ridden thoroughbreds.

My English was not very good at the time so I had no idea what the word thoroughbred meant until he said it was a racehorse!

He asked me if I wanted to give it a go and from there I fell in love with the point-to-pointers. That very first horse I rode in Ireland was Bishops Road and I thought it was like driving a Ferrari.
