THE weather woes show no sign of abating, with heavy rain obliterating last weekend’s cards when the Duhallow meeting at Dromahane was the sole survivor from five scheduled fixtures.

Saturday’s Lougbrickland card and Sunday’s Bellurgan Park, Courtown and Rathcannon meetings were sunk as the ground became too saturated for racing.

With Met Eireann reporting rainfall of 58mm at Johnstown Castle, 46mm at Cork airport and 42mm in Casement aerodrome, it was no surprise the fixtures hit were so widespread.
