Record purchase at Tattersalls confirms strength in points

Records were smashed at last Thursday’s Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham sales as Flemenshill became the most expensive point-to-point horse to ever change hands at public auction when he was knocked down for a price of £480,000.

To put this price into context, this is £110,000 higher than the previous record for the public sale of a horse with Irish points form.

The Flemensfirth gelding, who is out of a half-sister to the Hennessy Gold Cup winner Strong Flow, had caught the eye with his impressive success in the opening four-year-old maiden of the season at Oldtown this month.
