Record-breaker: Kruzhlinin becomes first horse to reach nine wins in a season

History was made at Taylorstown on Saturday afternoon when Kruzhlinin became the first horse to reach the nine-winner mark in a single season.

Since the champion point-to-point horse title was first introduced in 2012, four horses – namely Battlefront, The Hollinwell, Ourmanmassini and Sydney Paget – have made it to eight winners on their way to claiming their respective titles.

Gordon Elliott’s charge went one step further when picking up his ninth victory of the season in the open at the Newry Harriers fixture on Saturday.
