Race to be crowned champion pointer heats up after Longhouse Music victory

The race to become this season’s champion point-to-point horse has intensified after Longhouse Music landed her sixth success of the season at Portrush.

The ten-year-old mare closed the gap on Kruzhlinin to one as she seeks to follow in the footsteps of Carrigeen Acebo by becoming only the second mare to win the title since it was introduced in 2012.

As Kruzhlinin is being prepared for a tilt at the Aintree Foxhunters over the Grand National fences tomorrow, it has presented Sam Curling’s mare with an ideal opportunity to get back involved in the title race.
