I was at Kilfeacle for the first few races on Sunday before heading off to ride in the hunter chase at Naas.

Kilfeacle is a big demanding track. On ground described officially as soft to heavy it provided a real stamina test, fairly typical for the venue.

The five-year-old maiden has been won by some good horses. I remember First Lieutenant winning it ten years ago, and three years ago it was won by On The Blind Side, who went off to Nicky Henderson and won two Grade 2 novice hurdles by the end of the year.
