There's always something special about Thyestes day at Gowran Park, and this year's event was significant for Irish racing as a whole, the first fixture after the lifting of crowd restrictions.

Then Longhouse Poet made it an extra special day for me by winning the big race for Martin Brassil.

I was associated with the horse's early days when the Yeats gelding came to me to be broken. He stood out as a lovely prospect from the start. I rode him to win a maiden for Sam Curling at Boulta in January 2019 and continued to be involved with him when he joined the Brassil stable.
