After creating history at Comea this year when the success of Read To Return, trained by her partner Tom Keating, saw her rewrite the history books, Liz Lalor won the point-to-point category at the 2022 HRI awards.

Lalor set a record 110 point-to-point wins for a female rider with the success, surpassing Helen Bryce-Smith’s long-standing record of 109, and it was a total she added to by the season’s end with her tally standing at 114 winners.

The first HRI award for the Tipperary rider saw her fend off stiff competition from fellow nominees Colin Bowe, David Christie, James Hannon and Barry O’Neill at the award ceremony in Dublin’s Round Room at the Mansion House on Monday evening.
