Heavy rain came close to wiping out last weekend’s point-to-point action with Lingstown the only fixture to get the go-ahead.

There were ominous signs on Friday afternoon when inspections were announced for Sunday at Ballyarthur and Nenagh in advance of forecast significant rain.

Unfortunately, those fears materialised when both courses were found to be unfit for racing during those Sunday morning inspections.
