The richest meeting in the American steeplechase calendar takes place on Saturday in Far Hills, New Jersey.

The feature $450,000 Grade 1 Grand National Hurdle Stakes was won last season by Gordon Elliott and former point-to-pointer Jury Duty, and pointing graduates will be well represented on this year’s card.

Jury Duty looks set to defend his crown and features among 16 initial nominees for the race. He could appear alongside the ex-Eugene O’Sullivan-trained Scorpiancer and The Holy One, who began his racing career with Mick Goff.
