Title-chasing jockey Rob James showed another side of his talents at the weekend.

The Wexford native, who has ridden more than 170 winners since his first pointing success in 2012 and landed the 18th winner of the season on Cormac Doyle’s In Too Deep, demonstrated he has an eye for selecting young equine talent.

In the day’s opener at the Belharbour meeting County Clare, James was on his own Goaheadwiththeplan, a son of Stowaway which he bought at the Goffs Land Rover sale last summer.
