There was never a plan-B for me. I've wanted to become a jockey ever since I was eight or nine starting out at pony camp.

I don’t come from a horsey family but I was brought up around racing. My dad bought a racehorse, Knocknakeo Lady, about 20 years ago, and my early memories are of going racing to watch her run.

When she retired we bred from her and one of the first racehorses I ever sat on was her first foal, Rocking Dj.
