Ian Ferguson purchase makes winning debut for former rider Jonjo Bright

Last weekend's point-to-point action kicked off with two meetings on Saturday, at Kildorrery in the south, and at Farmacaffley in the north.

The Tynan & Armagh's Farmacaffley venue is one of the oldest in the country with a history going back to the end of the 19th century. Near the end of the 20th century it was the place where subsequent Grand National winner Bindaree made his first appearance.

Northern trainers took five of the six races on the card and several well-known figures on the local scene are associated with Marronstown, who made a good impression in taking the five-year-old maiden.
