The Limerick Foxhounds Bruff fixture had accumulated a strong entry of 76 but, dissapointingly, a total of only 31 were declared to run in the six races on a day when regional champion Derek O’Connor claimed the riding honours with three winners.

Rather unusually, there was a walkover for the Dave Clarke’s Bar five-year-old geldings’ maiden, with the Enda Bolger-trained Youcannotbeserious trotted across the line in the hands of O’Connor.

The JP McManus-owned gelding had decent track form last season, including finishing two and three-quarter lengths second to Montalbano in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown during the Christmas festival.
