Fixture changes leave spring season ending two weeks earlier than usual finale

The stewards of the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee have confirmed a spring fixture list of 73 fixtures for 2023 which gets under way at Dromahane on Friday, December 30, 2022 and runs until Sunday, May 21.

Nine fixtures are scheduled for January, including a New Year’s Day visit to Ballindenisk, with a new hunt committee, the Lismore, taking charge of the January 22 fixture in Dungarvan.

The start of the new year of four-year-old maidens is likely to remain at its traditional venues of Bellharbour, Ballinaboola and Tallow, which start the 15 fixtures pencilled in for February.
