First Account another Bowe belter in four-year-old maiden with rich history

Many highly regarded horses have been produced in the Canavans of Belclare four-year-old maiden, with three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate taking it in 1999.

The Colin Bowe-trained debutant First Account is the latest to join that list.

The son of Malinas was ridden prominently by Jimmy O’Rourke, quickening between the final two fences to secure a six-length win over Primal Focus.
