After the agonising defeat of Winged Leader at the Cheltenham Festival earlier in the month, his owners John Hegarty and Jennifer O’Kane enjoyed some deserved compensation at their local fixture when Vaucelet was an impressive winner of the Kelly’s Portrush open.
In front of a large crowd, the seven-year-old never gave his supporters a moment’s worry.
