Extra fixtures fantastic but congestion could scupper maidens
Action unfolds at Grennan on Sunday. Kilkenny is to hold hunts there in February and May
The spring fixture list was released belatedly by the Turf Club late last week and it features a total of 85 fixtures, from Dromahane on December 28 all the way through to the season-ending fixture at Ballingarry on the June Bank Holiday Monday (June 5).
Encouragingly, that is an increase of three more meetings than were due to be staged over the same period last season.
However, a challenging spring resulted in just 73 meetings actually taking place.
