On a weekend when some potential equine stars of the future were introduced, jockey Barry O'Neill reached a major milestone when becoming only the fourth rider in the history of point-to-point racing to reach the 500-winner mark.

The John Kinsella-trained Definite Warrior provided O'Neill with the landmark victory at Borris House, as the pair won the five-year-old geldings' maiden by 12 lengths.

O'Neill joins some illustrious company, with Derek O’Connor, Jamie Codd and the late John Thomas McNamara the other riders to achieve the feat. O'Neill's 500th winner comes just 11 years after his first success aboard Viking Rebel at Horse and Jockey in March 2007.
