Barry celebrates first-time fatherhood with one day off and three winners
A busy weekend kicked off in the north at Loughbrickland on Saturday when Donnchadh Doyle's Mossy Fen, who had made an early exit at Castletown Geoghegan the previous Sunday, was not long in making amends. He landed the four-year-old maiden in good style under James Walsh.
Jim Dreaper then took the mares' maiden with the Jamie Codd-ridden Shopping Around but that was the last success of the day for the southern raiders as the rest of the card was dominated by northern stables.
Noel McParlan rode a maiden winner for his father Sean and completed a double on Decor Irlandais to start off a good weekend for trainer Noel Kelly, who saddled Wild Shot to make it three handicap wins in a row on the all-weather at Dundalk on Sunday.
