Angels Breath (94+) dismissed a big field with the minimum of effort. The manner in which he saw out his race in ultra-testing conditions marks him out as a high-class individual who certainly ranks in the upper echelon of this season’s winners.

Dessie Deschamps (88+) got into a great rhythm at the front of the field and he could not be headed after going on at the midway point. He stuck to his task in likeable fashion to suggest he will comfortably slot in as a future winner under rules.
