Following his sad death aged 21, we remember when Scott Burton visited Dalakhani at home at Haras d'Ouilly in 2019


It was 16 summers ago that a steel grey colt lit up the French and European racing season with a scintillating performance in the Prix du Jockey Club, emulating his sire Darshaan in securing Chantilly's version of the Derby for his owner-breeder, the Aga Khan.

By that stage Dalakhani already had a Group 1 success at two in the Criterium International to his name, as well as another top level triumph in the now-defunct Prix Lupin.
