GBGB launches Seeing Is Believing

THE Greyhound Board of Great Britain is launching Seeing Is Believing, challenging those who think they are against the sport to experience the sport before passing judgement on its future.
The campaign kicks off with the launch of a video starring a former opponent of the sport who subsequently became an ardent supporter following a visit to a trainer's kennels, will will be available across GBGB social media, including YouTube from 10am on Thursday, October 8.

Abbie MacGregor, director of corporate affairs at GBGB, said: "How did we get to a stage where the future of an entire industry can be shaped on the strength of opinion from people who may never have set foot in a racing kennel or visited a track?
"People are entitled to their opinions. But asking politicians to destroy livelihoods, dismantle welfare infrastructure and decide the future of thousands of dogs demands something more than an opinion. It demands evidence, understanding and a willingness to examine whether what you believe reflects what actually happens.
"The people who care for greyhounds every day deserve to be heard. Too often, their knowledge and experience are dismissed while professional campaigners are treated as the unquestioned authorities on the dogs in their care.
"Seeing Is Believing puts those dogs and those people at the centre of the conversation. It was inspired by someone who opposed racing, went to see it and changed their mind. The overall message of the campaign is simple: don't take our word for it, don't take theirs: come and see it for yourself."
