Darceys Dude backed for the Coral Puppy Cup

DARCEYS DUDE was an early market mover yesterday for this year’s Coral Puppy Cup at Romford and now joins Carol Weatherall’s Puppy Classic finalist Scooby Mustang at the head of the betting.

The Yarmouth raider scorched the London Road sand in a sensational 23.66sec in a trial last week and

spearheads a talented team handled by Craig Morris for the £10,000 event, which kicks off on Friday night.

The promising pair share favouritism at 11-4 with Entain brands Coral and Ladbrokes, with Michelle Brown’s Lincoln Impact next best in the betting for the 400m showpiece at 10-1.

Kennelmate Carrigoon Cece, who will make her UK debut in the first of Friday’s six first-round heats, also attracted early support and was trimmed from 22-1 to 20-1.
