Tarima makes it magnificent seven this week for Aga Khan Studs with Leopardstown success

Tarima's successful debut in Leopardstown's Look De Vega at Ballylinch Stud Fillies' Maiden for Chris Hayes and Dermot Weld continued a wonderful week of winners for the Aga Khan Studs in Ireland and France.
The three-year-old is the seventh winner in the famous green and red silks since Monday, with Francis-Henri Graffard sending out six winners and two-placed horses from eight runners for the Aga Khan Studs.
In Ireland there have been three runners in that time with Johnny Murtagh sending out Dabashan to be third on debut in a three-year-old maiden at Dundalk on Friday night and Tarima's Leopardstown victory was followed by a fourth place finish for her stable companion Hazdann in the Group 3 Ballylinch Stud Red Rocks Stakes.
That result was the first time since Monday that an Aga Khan-owned and bred horse has not finished in the first three.
With seven winners and three placed horses from 11 runners, the legacy of the late Aga Khan IV's renowned breeding operation is assured and in Tarima, there is the perfect example of the decades of expertise and skill that has gone into nurturing and honing these brilliant families.
The three-year-old filly is a Lope De Vega three-parts sister to Tarnawa who was victorious three times in Group/Grade 1 company as a four-year-old, triumphing in the Prix Vermeille, Prix de l'Opera and Breeders' Cup Turf.
Kept in training at five, the Shamardal mare was an unlucky runner-up to St Mark's Basilica in the Irish Champion Stakes and also finished second to Torquator Tasso in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. She is due to be covered by Frankel this year.
Her Siyouni half-sister Tahiyra went one better than Tarnawa in accumulating four top-flight wins in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, the Irish 1,000 Guineas, the Matron Stakes and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Like her sister, she was an unlucky runner-up in Group 1 company, finishing second behind Godolphin filly Mawj in the 2022 edition of the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket in 2023.
Also trained by Dermot Weld, Tahiyra ended her career with third to Big Rock in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and she foaled a filly by Justify last month. She is due to be covered by Wootton Bassett this spring.
Tarima is a later starter than Tarnawa and Tahiyra, both of whom began their racing careers in the two-year-old fillies' maiden during the Galway Races with Tahiyra winning on debut, while Tarnawa was third to a future Classic winner in Hermosa.
Sunday's winner is the latest foal to win for Listed-winning Cape Cross mare Tarana, who is still only 15, holds an entry in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh in July.
