Raheem Sterling 13-2 to pip Harry Kane as top Three Lions goalscorer in Russia
England 5-1 to fail to get out of their group
England's build-up to the 2018 World Cup has been mercifully free of metatarsal dramas and other injury sagas, leaving manager Gareth Southgate with a fully-fit squad for their opening game against Tunisia.
Harry Kane is set to go off as a rock-solid 11-10 favourite to be the Three Lions’ top scorer at the finals and no England player has scored more than twice in one World Cup since Gary Lineker’s four-goal haul at Italia 90.
Raheem Sterling is expected to start in an advanced role and the Manchester City forward is 13-2 second-favourite behind Kane, having opened up at 10-1.
Jesse Lingard, also likely to get the nod against Tunisia, is a 14-1 chance to top the England scoring charts.
Jordan Pickford has established himself as Southgate’s preferred goalkeeper and, barring any late mishaps, the Everton cat will start the opening game. Pickford had been 3-1 with Betway at the start of 2018 to see off Jack Butland, Joe Hart and Nick Pope.
Marcus Rashford has trained after a minor knee injury but is expected to start the tournament on the bench.
The betting on England’s stage of elimination is tight with bookmakers unable to split a quarter-final and a last-16 exit. Both stages are 11-5 while it is 5-1 that the Three Lions fail to get out of the group.
Egypt have been boosted by the news that Mohamed Salah should be fit to start Tuesday's clash with hosts Russia.
A shoulder injury kept the Liverpool star on the bench for his side’s 1-0 defeat to Uruguay but he is 9-2 to score first against Russia in St Petersburg.
Midfielder Tarek Hamed is also available for Egypt despite sustaining a back injury in their opening Group A match.
James Rodriguez, a star of the 2014 World Cup, is 21-10 to score at any time for Colombia against Japan in Group H on Tuesday while his Bayern Munich teammate Robert Lewandowski is 3-1 favourite to open the scoring against Senegal when they meet in Moscow.
