Team news
Baltimore
Defensive end Calais Campbell (calf) and cornerbacks Tramon Williams (thigh) and Jimmy Smith (groin) are injury concerns. Tight end Mark Andrews, wide receiver Willie Snead and linebacker Matthew Judon are back after time on the Covid-19 reserve list.
Cleveland
Tight end Austin Hooper (neck) is a doubt and cornerback Denzel Ward (calf) and KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) are unlikely to return this week.
Preview
When Baltimore crushed Cleveland 38-6 in Week One of this season, few would have expected that when the teams met again in Week 14, the Ravens would have two fewer wins on the board.
Indeed, the Browns are looking good to make the playoffs for the first time since 2002 after compiling a 9-3 record under impressive rookie head coach Kevin Stefanski, while the Ravens can't afford to slip up in Ohio after losing four of their last six games to stand at 7-5.
A large part of their recent troubles have been down to a severe Covid-19 outbreak that forced a skeleton squad to take on Pittsburgh in a game that was delayed by six days.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson was back for their solid 34-17 win over Dallas last week and the Ravens are nearer a full complement now, although they have a number of defensive injuries.
Jackson's best passing performance of the season came in that early win over the Browns but their only other victory against a team with a winning record was in Indianapolis.
The Browns no longer have superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham due to injury but they are flourishing with a strong rushing attack led by Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
Young receivers Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones both scored TDs in last week's eye-catching 41-35 win in Tennessee, when they blew away the Titans early to lead 38-7 at half-time.
Bookmakers have to favour the Ravens after they won the teams' first meeting by 32 points, but the Browns will fancy their chances against most opposition at the moment and merit support as home underdogs.
Key stats
- Baltimore have covered the handicap in only two of their last six games.
- Baltimore have won 16 of their last 20 games against Cleveland.
- Cleveland have won five of their last six home games.
