This NFL showdown is an NFC West clash with a whole host of storylines.

The Los Angeles Rams boast a 7-2 record and have looked like Super Bowl contenders this season, but they head to San Francisco after a disappointing home defeat to the Tennessee Titans, in which Rams QB Matthew Stafford looked shaky with his new team for the first time.

The Rams have also lost wide receiver Robert Woods to injury this week, but Odell Beckham Jr is set to make his debut, albeit likely in a limited role, and in any case San Francisco’s problems are much bigger.

The 49ers had a great chance to turn their season around against an Arizona team missing QB Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins last week, but folded tamely .

San Francisco’s secondary is extremely poor and, while they have been unlucky with injuries this season, that won’t help them against the Rams. The 49ers have also lost starting right tackle Mike McGlinchey for the season, which is a huge loss.

The hosts have lost 11 of their last 12 home games and have an overall 23-34 record at Levi’s Stadium so take the Rams to cover the handicap.
