Speedway's top competition returns to action after a month's break with the Danish Grand Prix in Horsens.

The Speedway of Nations event took centre stage in the first half of June and Russia, represented by grand prix heavyweights Artem Laguta and Emil Sayfutdinov, edged victory over a Great Britain team spearheaded by the outstanding Tai Woffinden.

Jason Doyle's Australia were unable to land a blow, but he collected 29 points in the two legs of the final and the world champion looks worth supporting this weekend now he is hitting form.

The Australian superstar is tenth in the standings following a lacklustre start to the series, but is now regularly top-scoring for Torun in the Polish Ekstraliga and appears to be improving as the series goes on.

Three heat wins in this event last year resulted in Doyle reaching the final, where he finished fourth, and a chance should be taken that he at least reaches the podium in Horsens.

At a much bigger price, Danish wildcard Michael Jepsen Jensen may be able to dazzle his home fans. The talented 26-year-old performed superbly in the Speedway of Nations with little assistance from his teammates, and he is more than capable of competing.

Magic Maciej Janowski has won the last two Danish GPs and is feared most, as are championship leaders Freddie Lindgren and Woffinden, who have been excellent all season.
