Trawl through the raft of Ryder Cup specials and your eyes will probably be sore by the time you finish – bookmakers will bet on anything they think will lure punters to part with their money – but two prices make the mission worthwhile.

The most attractive odds on the whole competition are arguably the 5-2 about Matt Kuchar ending the week as the most successful American wildcard.
