With a number of managers joining new teams for their first games in charge this weekend, it can be hard to weigh up their squads.

However, one area where Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa side may struggle is set pieces. Only Crystal Palace have conceded more goals from set plays than the Villains and that was one area teams exploited against Gerrard’s Rangers side.

The Gers conceded from a corner in three of Gerrard’s last four games in charge and with his new side demonstrating similar issues, Brighton will look to take advantage.

Shane Duffy scored from a set piece for Ireland in their most recent game in Luxembourg and has registered the second-most shots of any Brighton player this season. Odds of 7-2 about him to register a shot on target and 9-1 to score at any time are worth taking.

Albert Lokonga has slotted in well to Arsenal’s midfield since arriving from Belgium, but he may be a busy man against Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has typically lined up as the left-sided central midfielder in Arteta’s system and so will be tasked with covering Liverpool’s dangerous right-hand side of Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Lokonga has already been booked four times this season and 3-1 looks a more than fair price for him to pick up another card.

Crystal Palace have received plaudits for their playing style this season and they have increased their shot totals under Patrick Viera. They travel to the side who have surrendered the most shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season, Burnley.

The Clarets have allowed 16.64 shots per game this season and with a rejuvenated Palace visiting Turf Moor, the travelling team are fancied to have 15 or more efforts at goal.
