Match preview

Premier League leaders Arsenal have been doing an excellent job of juggling European and domestic commitments and they can maintain their 100 per cent record in Europa League Group A by defeating Bodo/Glimt at Aspmyra Stadion.

Mikel Arteta is likely to ring the changes and hand opportunities to some of his fringe players, just as he did last Thursday when the Gunners defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-0 in north London.

There were moments of encouragement for Bodo/Glimt in the second half at the Emirates and they registered eight shots during the game – four of them on target.

The Norwegian club are still handily placed in the section with four points from three games and can be expected to threaten Arsenal's goal even more on their artificial home pitch where they have lost just one of their last 16 fixtures.

Kjetil Knutsen's side are second in Norway's top flight with 64 goals, the most in the division, and could score against Arsenal, although they may struggle to avoid defeat.

Arsenal's main priority this week is Sunday's trip to Leeds, but Arteta takes the Europa League seriously and handed substitute appearances to Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus last week to make absolutely sure of victory.

Finishing top of the group is important for the Gunners as it would send them straight through to the round of 16 and reduce their fixture workload in the early part of 2023.

Two more wins might be enough to seal the deal and Arsenal should get the first of them in Norway.

Key stat

Arsenal to win and both teams to score has been a winning wager in seven of their last 12 matches.
