Women's Euro 2022: England 8-11 to finish the job on home soil at Wembley

England are narrow favourites to win Euro 2022 after eight-time winners Germany secured their spot in Sunday's final at Wembley.

The Lionesses are 8-11 to lift the trophy with Germany at 21-20 and if England are to make the most of home advantage they will have to keep a close eye on Alexandra Popp.

A double for Popp against France in Wednesday's 2-1 win moved her joint-top of the Golden Boot standings alongside England star Beth Mead on six goals.

She has scored in every match this tournament and is making up for lost time after missing each of the last two European Championships through injury.

"It's not my main objective to win the Golden Boot, the main objective is to win the Euros," said Popp.

Germany have conceded only once in the tournament so far and that was a Merle Frohms own goal in the deserved success over France but that defensive organisation will be tested by a rampant England.

The Lionesses themselves have shipped just once but also scored 20 times in their five outings.

England beat Germany 3-1 earlier this year to lift the Arnold Clark Cup thanks to two goals in the last six minutes, although it is worth noting Popp was absent from the Molineux clash in February.
