Team news

Slovakia
Teenager Robert Bozenik could start up front. Martin Skrtel, Tomas Hubocan and Adam Nemec are in the squad but will only feature in the upcoming friendly with Paraguay, which will act as a farewell match for the retiring trio.

Wales
Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out and the injured Chris Mepham has been replaced in the squad by Under-21 defender Regan Poole.

Match preview

Time is running out for Wales in Euro 2020 qualification.

It has been a rollercoaster ride for the Dragons in Group E, in which they have won both their home assignments but lost two out of two on the road.

They will need to cure that travel sickness if they are to achieve an automatic-qualification berth and victory away to Slovakia would put them well in the mix to make the top two.

Ryan Giggs has a strong squad at his disposal, with Gareth Bale, Dan James and Harry Wilson all expected to be involved although Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out of the game.

Schalke teenager Rabbi Matondo also gets a call-up, having scored in a surprise Bundesliga win over Leipzig recently, and the team's pace in the final third could be crucial to unsettling the hosts.

Inter defender Milan Skriniar is the bright spark in an otherwise unconvincing Slovakia rearguard who have been leaking goals.

They were hammered 4-0 by Croatia in their last home fixture before conceding in a tight 2-1 win away to Hungary and they are worth opposing on home soil.

Wales won the reverse fixture 1-0 in March courtesy of a fifth-minute goal from Manchester United's James and managed to win the shot count 14-13.

Bale has also been getting more regular game-time for Real Madrid since then, netting twice and bagging two assists in La Liga this campaign.

The former Tottenham forward's goal against Azerbaijan last time out kept alive Wales's hopes of automatic qualification.

They should have learned their lesson from the complacency shown in the 1-0 defeat to Hungary and backing them with the draw no bet could be the best approach.

Key stat

Wales have scored in three of their four Euro 2020 qualifying fixtures.
