England have lengthened from 9-2 to 5-1 with bet365 to win the European Championship after they slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Czech Republic in Prague.

A lack of market confidence in England proved justified as they lost their first qualifying match for 43 games.

Bet365's opening quote for the Three Lions to win a fifth successive match in Euro 2020 qualifying had been 2-5, but Gareth Southgate's side had been pushed out to 4-5 by kick-off.

The firm's spokesman Steve Freeth said: "It showed there wasn’t total confidence in Southgate’s side continuing their winning run."

Harry Kane put England ahead from the spot after five minutes but goals from Jakub Brabec and Zdenek Ondrasek gave the Czechs - 13-2 to win on Friday morning - a memorable victory. England remain 1-25 to win their qualifying section.

France are market leaders at a best-priced 4-1 with most firms rating them 7-2 to follow up their 2018 World Cup win with Euro 2020 success.

Les Bleus are 2-13 with RedZone to win Group H despite being level on points with 5-1 shots Turkey, who made it six wins from seven qualifiers with a 1-0 victory over Albania.

Ukraine are no bigger than 8-13 to top Group B above European Championship holders Portugal, who are 11-8 to win the section, after a comfortable success over Lithuania.

Minnows Andorra, meanwhile, won their first European Championship qualifiers for 21 years with a 1-0 success over ten-man Moldova as 15-4 shots.
