Match preview

A tight game is expected as second meets third in the Sky Bet Championship game of the weekend.

Leeds and Fulham go head-to-head at Elland Road with Leeds back on home soil for the first time since the lockdown and it will be fascinating to see how they will cope without their vociferous home support.

Having gone down 2-0 at Cardiff last weekend, the Yorkshire outfit can ill afford another defeat as memories of last season’s late meltdown could come back to haunt them.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men hold a comfortable seven-point advantage over the Cottagers and draw wouldn’t be a disaster, with just seven games to go after this fixture.

There have been fitness concerns over key man Pablo Hernandez, but the former Swansea star has trained this week and is expected to start for the Whites.

Fulham also suffered a damaging defeat on their return to action, losing 2-0 at home to promotion rivals Brentford, and this looks a must-win game if they still harbour hopes of automatic promotion.

Scott Parker is expected to make a couple of changes after their frustrating defeat. Aleksandar Mitrovic is likely to lead the line and has scored in their last two games against Leeds.

Fulham won both of those meetings at Craven Cottage but the teams' previous five clashes had finished in draws.

Both teams have struggled for goals over their last eight games, with Leeds finding the net ten times and Fulham just seven times in that spell.

The last three meetings at Elland Road have finished 0-0, 1-1 and 1-1, and this looks likely to be another tight, low-scoring affair.

Key stat

There have been under 2.5 goals in the last four games at Elland Road
