Euro 2020 news: Italy 2-1 favourites after coming through Belgian battle
Azzurri fancied by the layers in semi-final showdown with Spain
Italy are 2-1 favourites with bet365 for Euro 2020 glory after stretching their unbeaten run to 32 games with a hard-fought 2-1 quarter-final triumph over Belgium in Munich.
A thrilling first-half sparked into life on the half hour mark when Nicolo Barella wriggled past three defenders before lashing his shot past Belgium number one Thibaut Courtois.
Lorenzo Insigne doubled the Italian lead on 41 minutes with a superb solo strike, but Belgium halved the deficit just moments later.
The pacey Jeremy Doku, one of Belgium's standout performers, was fouled in the box by Giovanni di Lorenzo. The penalty was coolly converted by Romelu Lukaku, who grabbed his fourth goal of the tournament.
Belgium had their chances to grab an equaliser late on, but they were unable to find a way through a resilient Italian rearguard.
The Azzurri, who were 11-8 to win against Belgium in 90 minutes, will go to war with Spain at Wembley on Tuesday for a place in the final.
La Roja needed penalties to see off Switzerland in their quarter-final encounter and are rated as outsiders for their last-four duel with Italy.
Roberto Mancini's men are 6-4 with bet365 to win in regulation time, with Spain 2-1 and the draw a 21-10 chance.
Italy are 3-4 to reach the final, while Spain can be backed at even-money.
