Jiri Vesely looks a potential Grand Slam winner in the making and it will be disappointing if the improving Czech cannot book a place in the fourth round with a victory over Joao Sousa today.

Vesely achieved his best result of his career when surprising Novak Djokovic in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters in April and while the 22-year-old’s best days look sure to lie ahead, he’s already a formidable opponent on his day.

There was no shame in his All England Club defeat to Nick Kyrgios at this round-of-32 stage two years ago but this is a big opportunity to at least make the last 16 and he is expected to take it.
