Pouille ready to claim first main-tour title

Lucas Pouille will be deflated at France’s failure to reach the Davis Cup final but the young Frenchman can gain a boost by winning his first main-tour title in Metz this week.
The 22-year-old Frenchman, runner-up on clay in Bucharest in April and semi-finalist at the Rome Masters in May, made the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and the US Open this year to show what a versatile performer he is.
Pouille has already earned a top-20 berth and looks booked for a top-ten place in the near future. Silverware has yet to come his way but should do before long.
