Andy Murray will be looking to get a few more clay-court matches under his belt before the French Open but the Briton faces a tough test in his Italian International match against Fabio Fognini.

The home hope gave Rafa Nadal a serious test when he took the clay legend to three sets in last week’s Madrid Open and Murray, who was humbled by Borna Coric in the Spanish capital, will have to dig deep if he is justify quotes of 4-9.

The best bet of the day could come from the women’s draw, where Madison Keys is a shade of odds-on to beat Aussie qualifier Daria Gavrilova.

The pair have met once before when Keys won comfortably on clay in the Fed Cup and she could be in line for a similar success.

The American has lost two in a row on this surface but reached the final of this tournament last year and she should be aiming to peak soon with Roland Garros on the horizon.

Gavrilova is a hard worker but she doesn’t possess the innate talent that Keys has at her disposal. She typically struggles to deal with powerful players and there are few on the WTA Tour who strike the ball with as much power as Keys.

Recommendation
M Keys
