Frenchwomen could shine on home clay in final Slam prep
Parmentier and Cornet may prosper on Roland Garros eve

Pauline Parmentier has played some of the best tennis of her career in recent seasons and the Frenchwoman, who has got better with experience, may have enough to handle the threat of Madison Brengle in the first round of the Strasbourg International.
Parmentier, who has enjoyed clay wins over a number of decent players in recent weeks, has been well supported to win her opener. But considering Brengle can be a capable performer on any terrain there is little point in betting heavily.
The home nation could enjoy further joy in the clash between Alize Cornet and Shuai Peng.
Seasoned Chinese Peng has been all the rage to progress to the last 16 in Strasbourg, but the clash could afford Cornet the chance to turn a corner after a quiet period.
The home player requested a wild-card for the event and that is often a sign that a player is keen to prosper, which can sometimes be half the battle.
There will be hours of enjoyment for tennis punters this week with Eurosport 2 showing live action from the French Open qualifiers.
