Backing Nishikori is the key to profit
Anderson no match for Japanese
Sky Sports 3 & BT Sport 1, 3pm Friday
The warm, humid conditions at the Miami Open are not to every player's taste but Japanese number one Kei Nishikori loves playing at the Florida venue and should make a positive start this year by defeating South African Kevin Anderson in straight sets.
Only the fittest players tend to flourish in Miami and Nishikori's powers of endurance are well known.
He reached the final last year - losing 6-3 6-3 to Novak Djokovic - but has a better chance this time with the Serbian champion absent through injury.
Anderson will look to cause problems with his big serve but has had an injury-hit start to 2017 and his first round success over Serbian qualifier Dusan Lajovic (7-5 6-2) was only his second victory in five matches this year.
He doesn't look ready to challenge a player of Nishikori's quality and may suffer a straight sets defeat.
Recommendation
K Nishikori to win 2-0
