World Series game seven
BT Sport 1, 12.20am

It's fitting that one of the all-time classic World Series should be decided in game seven tonight.

LA Dodgers fought back from 1-0 down to force the decider with a
3-1 home win on Tuesday night.

This will be the first time Dodger Stadium has hosted a World Series game seven, but history suggests there's no home advantage in these games, with a 19-19 home and away split.

Chicago Cubs won game seven on the road last year to claim their first MLB title for over 100 years and Houston are bidding to win their first franchise title.

But there are reasons to think the Dodgers can justify market favouritism at 4-6.

On 14 of 16 occasions the home team have forced game seven they've gone on to take the decider.

The Dodgers have won ten of their last 11 home games, including two of their three at home during this series.

Houston, meanwhile have lost five of their last six on the road, the sole win being their dramatic extra-innings victory in game two when they trailed LA 3-1 going into the eighth.

The magnitude of the occasion could get to either, or both, teams, so there's no guarantee the trend for close matches will continue.

The Dodgers are counting on Yu Darvish to bounce back from a dismal effort as starting pitcher in game three, while Houston go with that game's winning starter Lance McCullers Jr.

But from a betting perspective the safest approach looks to be to back the Dodgers to complete the comeback.
