Houston took the upper hand in the World Series when they claimed a 5-3 win over the Dodgers in Friday's Game Three and they should be confident of pressing home their advantage after taking a 2-1 lead.

Charlie Morton takes to the mound for the Astros and he should be full of confidence after he pitched five scoreless innings when they claimed victory over the New York Yankees in Game Seven of their ALCS series.

So he is well suited to dealing with the pressure, while there are a few reservations about the Dodgers' Alex Wood.

He was excellent during the regular season when he had an earned-run average of just 2.72 and if he performs to that standard then the Dodgers would have an excellent chance.

However, he hasn't seen much action of late. He pitched for four innings in their 3-2 NLCS defeat to the Chicago Cubs but this will be only his second appearance in 32 days as the Dodgers have avoided the temptation to field their star man Clayton Kershaw, who pitched in game one, on a short rest.

The Astros are a tough nut to crack at home and have won all seven of their playoff matches at the Astrodome - it is only the eighth time that feat has been achieved and their run differential in those matches is an impressive 36-10.

This looks a great opportunity for them to tighten their grip on proceedings.
