6 97 h 126
bb g Marju (IRE) - Comic (IRE) (Be My Chief)
Taken back from a wide gate, ended up 6 to 7Ls away at tail always racing solo at rear, not helped when pace steadied, switched widest turning, closed over the top with breathtaking finish to score easily. Remarkable win.
2 (1) ¾
7 88 t 112
ch g Woodborough (USA) - Egyptian Queen I (NZ) (Karioi Lad)
Began well, took a prominent position on back of leader, raced keenly throughout, still in between runners on bend, took inside runs turning and closed nicely when clear but proved no match for winner.
3 (2) shd [¾]
5 83 108
b g Cullen (AUS) - Gin Player (NZ) (Defensive Play)
Away nicely, assumed ideal spot 1 out 1 back, had fair run when speed slackened, in between horses turning, clear passing 400 M and challenged strongly but couldn't sprint with first two inside final furlong.
4 (3) [2¼]
5 85 Over-Weights 1 b 105
gr g Danasinga (AUS) - Principation (AUS) (Prince Echo)
Out on line, took a midfield spot on rails 3Ls or so from pace, no excuses in run, still in traffic on turning, into clear at 300 M, didn't dash but worked to line nicely
5 (12) ¼ [2½]
6 83 102
b h Vettori (IRE) - Nordico Princess (Nordico)
Relatively well away, pressed forward but was caught wide without cover 2Ls back, aided by steady pace to bend, challenged soon after turning and in mix to 200 M before run ended.
6 (9) ¼ [2¾]
6 97 t 120
b g Lear Fan (USA) - Elle Meme (USA) (Zilzal)
Standard jump and allowed to drift back from an awkward draw, raced 3 wide towards rear 6Ls back, forced 4 wide on circle, made steady headway without looking likely in straight.
7 (8) ¼ [3]
6 810 t 108
b g O'Reilly (NZ) - Mystical Flight (NZ) (Danzalion)
Standard jump, drifted back to race in 2nd half of field, raced keenly when pace steadied, 3 wide with cover on circle held up passing 200 M, closed off reasonably in circumstances to be nearest on line.
8 (10) ¼ [3¼]
6 712 99
br g Faltaat (USA) - Lady Centaine (NZ) (Centaine)
First to hit ground, went on to take up running easily, ran race to suit in front, increased speed at 400 M, kept on to 250 M before run ended and simply battled away late.
9 (13) ¼ [3½]
9 813 b 110
b g Royal Academy (USA) - Wild Vintage (USA) (Alysheba)
Away OK, taken back to race 4 wide without cover behind midfield, did plenty of work in run, improved to be 4Ls down turning, held ground evenly in run home without looking likely.
10 (4) ½ [4]
5 812 t 110
b h Fusaichi Pegasus (USA) - Crown Crest (Mill Reef)
Began smartly, pushed forward to race outside leader, had fair run once pace steadied, 1/2L down on turning, still in mix at 300 M but couldn't lift a gear after that and faded late.
11 (5) ¼ [4¼]
8 810 t 105
b g El Moxie (USA) - Northern Tycoon (AUS) (Last Tycoon)
Standard jump, ended up 5Ls or so away on rails, had a soft run but not aided by pace, saved ground on bend, made limited progress along inside in home stretch.
12 (6) shd [4½]
7 80 100
b g Deputy Governor (USA) - The Essence (AUS) (Voltage Peak)
No early pace, raced in rearward division 5Ls off speed, back between horses to bend, made no real progress, just held ground in straight.
13 (7) [6¾]
5 89 t 99
bb h Sendawar (IRE) - Diyawara (IRE) (Doyoun)
Began fairly, positioned nicely in midfield 4Ls off bend, not used in mid-section, not aided by steady pace, couldn't sprint when asked, checked when tiring in straight.
