The rider, the trainer and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities. The rider stated that he had reported at Scales that the mare had run too freely and had stopped quickly. He further stated that his instructions were to settle her towards the rear of the field and take his time. He added that the mare was not suited by the hurdles being omitted in the back straight as she is a free-running horse. He further stated that having suffered interference early in the home straight, she had no more to give.
